The Royal Mint produced a gold error Two Pounds / Double Sovereign. Something like 250 of them were produced.

Just now, I cannot give any more detail; I am not currently at not home with access to my references, but on the other side of the Planet.

There are SO many types of Gold error coins! I suggest that you decide on one kind of error, like Brockages (will be very expensive), Die Clashes (often sell for not much over Gold value), or etc.

If you like, I can post some examples

Happy collecting,
Bill

Here's a gold brockage. (An English 1724 1/2 Guinea; not for sale).

Here are two French 20 Francs. The first is an obverse brockage and the second is heavily die clashed -

(Both are actual the same size. Sorry that, when combining obverse and reverse images, I made one coin appear smaller than the other).
