I don't know what they do up there, but in the US the person can submit a claim to the BEP. I don't know what banks here do as far as accepting mutilated currency as I have never had to deal with that. I don't recall what the specifics are - I think it used to be both serial numbers or one serial number with both signatures, but just phone your bank, as mentioned, and ask them. Are you in 53 or 13 division by any chance? Any dye/ink on them that shouldn't be there? Any sequential serial numbers? If they're legit then the bank should give you the full value for only having 51% of the note. Take them to a different bank. Report this Post to the Staff
