All Superman 2014 coins sold out at the Mint except for the $15 one, which is awaiting stock.

Interesting...Is the sold-out means, that RCM had small allocation, but soon the dealers and CP will be overloaded with the huge amount of coins? Or in opposite - not only RCM, but the coins sold-out everywhere, and better to pick-up one or two $10 if they occasionally will be at POs? I thought, $20 will be less popular, than others, but probably due to sharp design it became more desired, than classic $15 design.

Hi Silveroid! My understanding is that the mint only shows coins as being Sold Out after all of its authorized dealers have also exhausted their stock. So we can safely assume that only the 3/4 oz silver Action Comics #419 is still available from a dealer somewhere. Note: My statement is subject to all the legal assurances that I could be wrong (again)!

^I kind of agree as that is what I thought, but up until the Superman Gold coin went from SOLD OUT, to in stock and then awaiting stock, and now back to SOLD OUT, I thought once coin is sold out, its sold out, but apparently not. Honestly I dont even trust this current sold out status, could be a marketing trick to increase sales

Honestly I dont even trust this current sold out status, could be a marketing trick to increase sales I believe, that you correct in the 99% of cases. But imagine the situation, that someone, collector suddenly decided to cancel the order (after seeing real coin in the pictures). It might happen, so the RCM has one and one only in the stock after "sold-out". Since few people checking the website after official sold-out, the coin were unseen for 15 minutes or less.

The only reasonable explanation on the gold version, is a cancelled order or a payment problem and was returned into the system for 2 seconds. I think the RCM website only refers to their own stock, as with the piedfort coin last year, it was an instant sellout on the RCM but silvertown was recently selling them for 50.00

@ Silveroid and john100I don't think either of you are correct when it comes to Sold Out status. I agree that Awaiting Stock can be a marketing ploy, but Sold Out means that all authorized dealers orders from the mint can no longer be filled. This gives the green light to those dealers to ask whatever price they want for those coins. In the case of the first appearance of the four commissioned Bison coins, the status was immediately posted as Awaiting Stock not Sold Out. I remember this very well since I was shocked, amazed and disappointed when each coin became not available to MC members. I was forced to order from an authorized dealer and pay shipping. Of course, all of the above may be subject to correction and if so, I will plead a faulty memory...

Keep in mind that the reps have had a waiting list for popular coins (Superman gold included). Any coins that were declined at the point of sale will have been scooped up immediately by the next on the list.

So how long before made-in-China fake versions of these coins hit the market?

When the Superman coins were again available 3 days ago, I wrote an email to my Representative.
I quote him "Sometimes they receive few quantities from cancellations so they put it up on the web until it sells out".
And on another subject he said: " In the next year there are a lot of changes coming through the pipes, among which are vast improvements to the MastersClub program."
