Am I wrong thinking that you have a problem with the delay because you wanna flip the coins you are waiting for?

I just remember myself finding occasionally and bought spontaneously the "Two Loons" for issue in one of the forgotten PO, while right near, in the same mall the Coin shop asked for it $179.

If you check out other threads, most people don't like delays, even in not hot coins that you don't flip. It's just the fact that in 2 weeks there is a new release(Octobre), so if they start shipping when all people is already talking about the new coins.......

So indeed, it's about flipping. What does it matter that people will be talking about October releases when you receive your coin ?!

Sorry arianzo and Silveroid for the mixup in attributing the wrong guy to the quote: Quote: If no one is recevying a certain coin I don't care about the delay. The problem is when they ship some of them so some people have the coins and the rest has to wait. It's a good thing you both agree with the sentiment.

Sure it is about flipping. The first gold Superman coin had a slow start because flippers didn't get hold of it until it was too late. And it was slow to sell out. The 2nd gold was sold out before many had a chance to get it. That was due to flippers. You notice that the 5oz Big coin which is lower in price and lower in quantity has not sold out yet. People who buy that are true coin collectors and not just flippers.

Quote: Jumpy asked: Am I wrong thinking that you have a problem with the delay because you wanna flip the coins you are waiting for? Who are you asking, Jumpy? In my case I just want the coins for my collection. Quote: AH HA! said Jumpy: So indeed, it's about flipping. What does it matter that people will be talking about October releases when you receive your coin ?! Jumpy, I think you ought to try decaf... Regardless of whether one intends to buy and keep, buy and sell, or buy and eventually sell, there is plenty of reason to be unimpressed (or maybe depressed) over a delay in receiving our Superman coins.

Quote: Now this from MoneyPenney: ...People who buy that (the 5oz Big coin) are true coin collectors and not just flippers... Good Grief! What a load of patent nonsense MoneyPenney! I challenge you to define a "true coin collector". Do you consider yourself one? If so on what basis?

A true collector is someone who buys coins because they like collecting coins. They are not only into making money by flipping. While I do resell coins, I only use the money I earn to buy other coins. Sometimes I get rid of coins I don't like anymore. I rarely make money off them. Most of the time I am lucky to break even. I also have a huge stamp collection. You rarely make money by re-selling stamps. I collect them because I like stamps. That is what a true collector is; you don't care about the monetary value that much.

It would be fun to have a cartoon artist draw his / her interpretation of us here on coin comm form and have the characters siting around having these conversations. I enjoy these conversations, both the subject matter at hand and the humor. Bravo to the CCF form! fun fun fun Liverpool

That's absolutely right. But: if this coin with time will go great in the secondary market, the next coins in series will repeat the "Gold Superman 2" - will be purchased by the flippers and very quick will be offered for high premium to public.

Some members were wondering about delay on RCM's Superman Coin. This is partial of e-mail that I received from SGB "Hello all, please note that due to some packaging issues all these products will be on backorder until next week and perhaps even 2 weeks. Once I have more information I will let you all know." So the reason for delay from RCM is packaging issues.

Are you sure those that quickly ordered the subscription for the 5oz are not flipper? How many of them will actually keep their subscription till the end? Look at C&C, they still have 56 subscriptions available. Reason that no one scoop those up because it is very difficult to cancel the subscription from them once you commit. Don't hate those that got the gold superman because your rep screw you over. Are you sure everyone that lucky enough to purchased a gold coin from Dealers or RCM at cost not a collector? You consider yourself not a flipper because you sell some coins to help your collection. Well, I am sure there are some that didn't like superman coins but brought it to flip for the same purpose as you. Don't make your self all righteous and lump the others as scum bags.

^^ I agree with Lostwords. I got a gold superman coin from the mint with no intention of keeping it. Don't really like the design. I'm going to flip it and buy other coins I want for my collection. Does that make me not a true collector? I think not.

Who is being self righteous?! All I said was I collect coins because I like coins; compared to people who only flip coins for the money. You should not put words into my mouth. I did not call anyone scumbags!
