Hi everyone. Just wanted to pass along a link to an ebay auction for Bowers book THE HISTORY OF United States coinage AS ILLUSTRATED BY THE GARRETT COLLECTION. It closes in 21 hours from the time of this posting and it still has no bids, so those who may want it should act fast. Unfortunately for me, I've already bid on the copy included in the current K&F auction at a higher price than this is being offered at. I felt I should pass along the info so someone can take advantage of my missed opportunity. I hope this finds a good home among the bibliophiles on the forum. Here's the link:

That is a good deal for sure! One of the best readable and enjoyable United States coinage books every written IMO, I have a few copies myself. Why more than 1? I keep buying collections of books to get one or two I really want and end up with them, I may be selling some duplicate books soon. But this one you will want in your library! At under $25.00 it's a steal.

Terrific book. I have one and darn near every book he ever wrote. I am currently plowing through the ' ANA Centennial History' for the third time. A real unappreciated gem is 'The Walter Nichols File', an inside look at the coin hobby in the 1930's viewed through correspondence of an active dealer/ collector. I always wished he would have done a book on Max Mehl- there's still time- listening, Dave?

A book on Max Mehl would be a fantastic read! His old office the Star Coin Company building is not too far from where I was born, I need to get over and see it while it is still standing, I'm about 60 miles away now. Love the Centennial ANA trilogy, I just finished the History pt. II book now starting on volume one. I had to read the modern ANA era history first as one of my best friends in coins was Stephen Taylor R.I.P. (Past ANA President) Steve introduced me to so many greats in the Coin World. The Anthology book just arrived this past week in the mail, thus completing the 3 book set for my library. Got all three books for under $80 shipped, I thought a good deal.

I'm working on a complete set of Bowers & Ruddy, Bowers & Merena "Rare Coin Review" catalogues - I am down to only needing around 20 or 25 issues now. Was able to add a few more needed issues from ebay this week!

Thanks for the link, I ended up getting two of the other books this seller had listed. The Garrett Sale Part 4 (Hardbound) the only hardbound Garrett sale catalog I was missing, along with the "Medallic Portraits of Washington" book by Rulau & Fuld 2nd edition.

The Library keeps growing!
