I have been trying to attribute this one, but am stuck. It has all the earmarks(pun intended) of a VAM 113 but also the nose of a 132 I think.
and the little bit of metal at the base of the P

I'm using Leroy's 1878-P 7TF Attribution Guide and with having the die flake on the cheek and the die crack/gouge thru ear center, this gives you a II/I 15 obverse die and tells me this is a VAM 113. The VAM 132 has a II 3 obverse die which is a polished out II 2 die and it makes no mention of a flake or ear gouge. Even tho you have partial nose polishing it is not as severe as the 132. Both VAMs share the B2a reverse die.

Thank you ocsjr, I had it pegged as a 113 as well, until I came across the nostril. It looked to me exactly like the 132 nose at the ashmore site, so I was wondering if it was a totally different #, and couldn't find anything out. Thanks for the reply.
