Traded this from a good friend. I am thinking about adding it to my 7070. It's in an ICG slab right now. What would your grade it?

argghhh....you're right! Darnit, why would my friend do this to me! I guess I need to get rid of it, who wants a defective coin in their type set? Maybe I will go spend it at taco bell and take the loss.

Don't worry, I'll help you out with the defective coin. We can trade for my 1937D with four legs.

I would guess XF? I am in no way qualified to make a determination so I am ready to be schooled!

ICG graded this AU50!! I was very pleased when it arrived in the mail, as it looks very strong for the grade, and perhaps even undergraded....which surprises me for ICG. It has beautiful luster, and would not look out of place at all in my 7070. I don't collect Buffalo nickels, so I am not quite sure what else to do with it....but I don't think an ICG AU50 slab does it justice. Do you guys think it is worth trying to get it in a PCGS or NGC slab?

I think it would grade ar least au50 in either pcgs or ngc, plus might grade higher and be easier to sell...

Thanks guys. I have been comparing this to PCGS and NGC XF and AU coins, and there is absolutely no way this could downgrade to an XF45. The coin has 53-55 solid problem free written all over it. I do not collect buffs, this was a part of a trade in which I was originally intending to sell it. Now that I have it in hand though, I think the ICG slab doesn't do it justice. I'm thinking about cracking it out and putting it face forward in my 7070 type set. Maybe at a later point I will get it regarded to sell, or be part of a buff collection. What are your thoughts?
