Just given this coin from my uncle to say thanks for some work I did for him.

.50 cent coins 1987 x 2
1983 x 2
1975 x 1
1974 x 1
1969 x 1

1.00 coins 1987 x 1 1983 x 1
1975 x 1 1973 x 1 1971 x 1
1969 x 1 1968 x 1

All the above coins are almost identical to this coin in finish
Best I could do with the picture

Sorry about the shadows and also the dust particles on the front of the coin
I am a terrible photographer

Value isn`t everything, quality of strike on many PL coins like this one makes them well worth keeping, every detail the designer intended is quite evident.

Thank you, I am going to just give them a soft cloth wipe and seal them back up.

I am sure my son will appreciate them later on....I hope.

Looks like a specimen strike to me... (that does not change the value, still worth $2 to $3).

You`re right SPP, that`s a specimen, and doesn`t change its value or desirability.

in all honesty, what would be the best thing to do with all these coins as there were also quarters from the same sets I guess.

are they worth hanging onto?

Thanks

they are worth hanging onto if they are something you collect. They will never be worth a whole lot more than they are today, if that helps.
