Just given this coin from my uncle to say thanks for some work I did for him. .50 cent coins 1987 x 2 1983 x 2 1975 x 1 1974 x 1 1969 x 1 1.00 coins 1987 x 1 1983 x 1 1975 x 1 1973 x 1 1971 x 1 1969 x 1 1968 x 1 All the above coins are almost identical to this coin in finish Best I could do with the picture Sorry about the shadows and also the dust particles on the front of the coin I am a terrible photographer

PL65 Removed from a PL set, these retail for about $2-$3

Value isn`t everything, quality of strike on many PL coins like this one makes them well worth keeping, every detail the designer intended is quite evident.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning... -from PCGS website

Thank you, I am going to just give them a soft cloth wipe and seal them back up.
I am sure my son will appreciate them later on....I hope.

Looks like a specimen strike to me... (that does not change the value, still worth $2 to $3).

You`re right SPP, that`s a specimen, and doesn`t change its value or desirability.

in all honesty, what would be the best thing to do with all these coins as there were also quarters from the same sets I guess. are they worth hanging onto?  Thanks

they are worth hanging onto if they are something you collect. They will never be worth a whole lot more than they are today, if that helps.
