Someone's trying to pass off the polished nickel as a brilliant proof.

I agree with Matteproof. 1936 Proof Buffalos, both Satin & Brilliant, are usually Full Details coins. This one is not.

Sadly, someone will pay north of 500. for it.
The seller sold an '09 silver eagle privately minted overdate for 192.50!
I doubt he'll see any cash from it & his days are probably limited.

Not that it will do much good, but I contacted the seller through E-bay and told him I believed he was selling a buffed up coin. I told him a real proof for that year would have Full Details and that the head of the buffalo had no details at all and apparently he lost all the fur on his shoulder.

Such a shame. So much money is lost on ebay.

Yes, that won't help. I'm sure they will deny it. Have you reported it using the CCW reporting link? Technically it's an altered coin, especially if they are passing it off as a proof. What I like to do is wait a days after it closes and then report it. That way the seller already shipped and they are out both the coin and the money. That way they can't try to hawk it to someone else.

Thanks OldSkoolMadSkilz. I hadn't thought about doing it that way. I'll keep that in mind the next time.

Wow it went for over $200 but his "Reserve was not met". Thankfully, some stupid buyer was saved from paying that stupid price.

37 Bids two people with one loan bidder. Looks like the kept bidding it up hoping someone would get a &^%$(er and jump on it.
