I have not seen this before. Please note that the area in question is incuse and it does not appear to be PMD. Please also note the obverse MAD. Basically it looks like the opposite of a Cud. All opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

It's a small indent in combination with a minor misaligned die. Very cool piece.

It is an indent strike, formed by the overlap of another planchet when struck. The mate would be a ~98% off-center showing a bit of T on the obverse and a uniface reverse.

Wouldn't an indent flatten the rim?The rim looks intact,could it be a struck through debris?
