Hi guys...Wife handed me this 1941 nickel..Dont know what is going on here..Missing chrome...rust..?

Any suggestions..The true colour is on the left coin and I lightened it up to see it better on the right coin.

looks like environmental damage or something along those lines.

side note:nickels didn't have chrome in 1941, only in 1944,45,51,52 and 53
