I have an option for 3 rolls of average Liberty nickels in the morning.

$1 each piece too much?

What dates are mixed in? If they are all 1897-2012, G-VG I can get those at a dealer at 50 cents a piece and he has tons.

Yes, I would pay that if there were a few better dates mixed in and some higher grades.

My son LOVES V nickels so I buy them whenever I can and usually in bulk. I normally pay anywhere from $0.20 to 0.75 each. Then comes the fun of searching them.
