I recently picked up this 1814 bust dime for 15$ at a coin show. I knew this was the cheapest bust dime I would be able to find, but given it's condition, would you say I got a good deal? Or did I get messed up? Either way I love it, I got a 200 year old coin for 15$, tell me what you guys think!

Hey not bad at all. Usually the bust dimes I see in the 10 to 20 dollar range you can't make out a date.

Nice pickup, nice price.
Here in Korea, bust dimes are almost nonexistent and very expensive even in the lowest of all grades.

Sorry to hear that, I rarely see them over here on the west coast, so I snatched this one as soon as I saw it, definitely one of my favorite pieces.

Is it a small or large date. Good price you got it for.

In my fairly unexperienced opinion I'm pretty sure it's a large date, but I'm not certain.

You did quite well Arael. Take into account the early releases & history of capped bust dimes of 1809, 1811 & 1814. The mint then took a rather lengthy hiatus from producing them until 1820. The 1814 had to "carry the load" for six years before the public saw a new issue, therefore the date circulated extensively. Looks like you found one of those workhorses that did just what the mint officials back in 1814 wanted it to do.... circulate. For $15, you made out very well.
