Welcome! It's clearly a jewelry piece. Is that a date below the antelope in the center? Perhaps with a flanking N and A (or nu and delta) for the maker's initials?

It isn't cursed or anything. It's just an astrological medal; as HawkHybrid said, the water-carrier represents the star-sign Aquarius. The Greek text are the original Greek names for the star-signs; although the names we use for them now are Latin in origin, the star-signs themselves were copied by the ancient Romans from the Greek astrology charts.
It's previous owner probably wore it on a chain and lost it when the chain broke. Landscaping would presumably have subsequently buried it much deeper.
Whoever made it probably made the full set of 12 star-signs, so you could go into a New Age supplies store and buy whichever particular star-sign you wanted. "1947" appears to be part of the central logo, so it might be the year the company that made it or sold it was founded, rather than the year the medal was actually made, but it does set an earliest possible date.
