For a while now, I've had a bit of an itch for an ancient or medieval artifact, but unlike coins, basically don't really know exactly where to go online for them, or how to shop for them. Doss anyone know any reliable places online that legally sell authentic, cheap artifacts (I mainly would like a Roman or something early medieval/Dark Ages, like Saxon for example).
Thanks!

VK you could try somewhere like http://www.museumsurplus.com/
I don't know how you can tell whether the firm is authentic or reliable, but you have to start somewhere!

I googled "museum artifacts for sale" and a number of interesting sites came up.

Interesting web site. Some dealers on Vcoins also sell artifacts.

Vcoins is a good suggestion. Dealers there are typically reputable and subscribe to a code of ethics. However, buyer beware: dealers can be well-intentioned but wrong (about authenticity and attribution).

Forumancientcoins.com is a good place to shop. I appreciate the fact that Joe Sermarini, the owner, adds provenance to objects' descriptions when possible. I'm always bothered when dealers skimp on provenance for antiquities when it seems it should be available. Forum is a reliable source and their stock is constantly being updated.

I have some relics. I've got a few broches and things with uncleaned coins, I got some Arrow heads from a fellow member here (they turn up on ebay a lot as well, especially from the Sahara..not often from England). Metal detectorists often turn up interesting things - medieval and roman figurines and htings are actually relatively common. I bought a roman lead relief scene from a detectorist on ebay earlier this year.
