Hmm.. around VG. Not sure if it'll get a details grade (Graffiti?) for that small "x" on the obverse bust. There also seems to be a nice Cud.

That's a rim bump at upper right on the reverse.

I would grade this coin VG8. 1803 is a DB dollar date you do not see that often. Regarding attribution,I am afraid I cannot help other than to say there are 5 die varieties for that year (four with 'small 3', one with 'large 3'). Yours is one of the small 3 varieties. The interesting toning pattern around the stars may be indicative of an old cleaning.

Thanks, GERMANICVS, for your grading, and for helping to narrow down the die variety.

The serif on the 3 extends above the top edge, so this is actually the large 3 variety, B-6/BB-255. Eric P Newman's finest-known specimen just sold 6 months ago, after having been off the market for 70 years. Fetched $700,000. http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleN...&lotNo=33515

Judging from all of the dirt around the stars, I say this has been cleaned at some point.
