Have you found anything interesting yet?

Otherwise ... suggest another series if this one bothers you so much.

Try nickels ... easy on the eyes.

I wont even bother with the edge dated coins. I just take one of each and who cares what mintmark it is/was because they will wear off soon enough and you can hardly put them in anything to be able to read later.

my method for searching a box of small dollars:

1. open a roll and sort "silver" and "gold" to different area
2. when all rolls open, put away the "silver" ones to have room for next step.
3. start spreading out the "gold" and checking the backs. Liberty is Pre$, eagle is SAC, other is NatAm.
4. next day: check for NIFC Pre$, or upgrades. dump rest into bucket for rolling/spending.
5. next day: check SACs for NIFC, or upgrades. dump rest into bucket for rolling/spending.
6. put up the keepers and start rerolling the Pre$ and SAcs.
7. Wait a week and decide how many rolls of SBA I really need and wheat I will keep from them.
8. Keep what I decided to keep and dump the rest into bucket for rerolling. (SBAs should be spent rolled so people don't think they are quarters. I will make a careless cashier dump out ALL her quarters in the drawer and PROVE they are all quarters if she messes up!)
9. Spend leftovers.
10. take out keepers and sort into books and wherever else I planned to keep them.

@ Shadz, when you say silver you mean silver color not silver the metal right?
What actual silver metal coins could you possibly find in a small dollar.

thus why I said "silver" and "gold", cause they dont even remain golden long. no idea but I have some silver plated halves, no telling who might have dont it with SBAs so if you can find it, someone other than the mint did it I am sure. also foreign coins that are about the size of an SBA and a US quarter that I have found are also "silver" and could easily appear in rolls/boxes of small dollars just as quick as they appear in quarters.

Thanks guy's. What I am doing is filling 3 Albums that I can give to my Grand kids someday. As well as one for my wife and myself.

We Love the Native American dollars and find the Presidential series attractive and somewhat historical.

Going through them is like, " Hey, I remember when we learned that in High School! ".

Which I don't even think they teach about anymore.

Like a chronicle of sorts that is easy on the wallet.

Of course keeping an eye out for the 'odd balls' and waiting to find the Cheerios Dollar that I KNOW is waiting for ME to find in MS-67 or 70 in pocket change!

It's fun.
