I asked this earlier but the pictures weren't so great. I did a high resolution scan on my good scanner. Here are the best pics I can get without uploading it to Photobucket which I can do. Does this coin have an overdate? It looked like it to me. What type is it?

Hmm.. yea, I remmber this coin. I would have to say what I said last time. Pictures aren't good enough to to make an accurate guess. Although that last close-up of the date doesn't show any overdate.

This is a 1200 DPI pic. I can't make it any bigger. I don't know what kind of pics you need. This is the biggest I can make them.

I actually can see the overdate quite clearly, as I did with the original photos. Now the hard part is determining which variety it is.

Yes, I saw it to I thought when I bid on it. Hopefully Condor will show up.

I have one of those. It is an 1800 where it looks like 1890 due to the over date from the earlier 1799.

Did you find out what variety it is? Do you think Condor would mind if I PMed him and asked him?

Maybe one of these? That 3rd digit looks like it may be a 0 over a 9?

Comments from where you posted it on another forum
There is no 1800 over 1799. There are six different overdated obverse for this year comprising eleven varieties. One die is 1800/1798, the other five are 1800/179_. The 1800/1798 dies comes on four varieties S190, 191, NC5 and NC6. I've already told him on another forum that this is not that obv. It isn't NC1, 192, or 193. (The top of the 7 shows strong at the top of the 8 on those) I don't think it is 194 or 195 because the final 0 is too close to the bust. That leaves 196 which is common and NC2 which is rare. At the moment that is a close as I have gotten it (and due to condition it may not be possible for me to get it closer.)

Yes, I know there is no 1800/1799. Coinfacts.com lists all the Sheldon varieties. I think you can assume it is common unless proven otherwise. Can you tell what style of hair it is?

The part about there not being an 1800/1799 was because on the other forum a couple people made the comment about a 00/99 overdate.
I believe I can barely see the extra curl in the hair that makes it a type 2 hair which was why I eliminated S-190, 191, NC5 and NC6.
