Here's another modern commemorative silver dollar from Canada. This one is from 1979 and depicts the Griffon.

The coin marks the 300th anniversary of the first voyage of the Griffon on the Great Lakes. It has a specimen finish and a mintage of 688,671. (There were a lot more collectors of Canada's commemorative silver dollars back then!)

The silver dollar is 36.07 mm in diameter and weighs 23.3 grams; the composition of its planchet is 50% silver and 50% copper.

It's been far more than a year since this one was last posted, it seems like it's time for a reappearance!

The coin marks two distinct dates in Norfolk's history: the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the Borough of Norfolk and the 300th anniversary of the land grant that led to the founding of the Village of Norfolk.

2013 Republic of Armenia Noah's Ark

Here's another classic US commemorative half dollar - the 1935 Hudson, NY 150th anniversary of Charter coin. It has been more than two years since one has been posted, so it seems like a good time for a re-post!

The reverse of the coin depicts Hudson's ship, the Half Moon with a rather fanciful crescent moon in the background at left.

It's been quite a long time since this one last made an appearance, so...

Here's a pair of the US Pilgrim Tercentenary commemorative half dollars - one from 1920 and the other from 1921. The Mayflower is depicted on the reverse.

I wouldn't think so, but I, personally, don't like to post a coin that has very recently been posted. I don't see much value in such "repeat" posts, I like to space things out a bit.
