Here's a commemorative $20 silver coin of Canada that celebrated the International Polar Year of 2007. Canada was one of several countries to issue a commemorative coin for the Polar Year in either 2007 or 2008.

The sailing ship on this coin can be found in the background on its reverse.

Here'a another NCLT silver coin from Canada; this $20 piece was issued in 2013 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of Louisbourg in Nova Scotia.

Louisbourg was a major trading center, host to a very large French military force and the central hub of France's early power in its New France territory.

Here's a 2016 coin from Canada that was issued to mark the 100th anniversary of the successful laying of the first enduring Transatlantic telegraph cable.

The coin depicts the SS Great Eastern, an iron-hulled steamship that incorporated a steam-driven propeller, stem-driven paddle-wheels and six sails for its propulsion. The ship was responsible for laying the cable.



The coin shown here is the selectively gold-plated version found in the Royal Canadian Mint's Fine Silver Proof Set for 2016; the silver dollar was also available individually in a standard proof version.

Second is a 2019 Cutty Sark Two Pound coin from the British Indian Ocean Territory

The third is a 2020 Mayflower $1 coin from the British Virgin Islands
