One of the tellers at one of my favorite banks knows very little about to this kind of stuff, but knows I collect them so he had set this aside for me to look at before they sent it out for destruction.

I am so glad they did because it's amazing bill aside from the corner.

Uhhhm ... that missing corner is a bit of a distraction ... hopeful that you will describe your reasons for enjoying this note.

The missing corner is just part of the history of the note, the old superstition was $2 bills were bad luck, but if you tear the corner of it, it will stave off the bad luck untill you give it to the next person.

Looks like the paper is still crisp. Shame about the corner though. Most of the ones I've gotten from the bank are rags and taped together. Nice find regardless.

Great looking note, sans the corner.

Your superstition story reminds me of people who remove the security strip from 20's (probably not for superstition; more likely just to be destructive). Totally destroys the note.

Yours is a fun keeper though.

Come on guys, the fact is that if there wouldn't be a missing corner, nobody would have used it at the Bank.

@arianzo, I understand that it would have been sent for destruction if not for the friendship of a bank teller.

Nice story & nice find especially if that's what you collect.

I guess being young and with a smaller collection than most of you guys, I get a bit more excited at finding stuff like this than some. But then, that thrill of finding something nice, even damaged, in the wild is what keeps me going to the banks each week!

Besides, aside from the corner, this note is better than all of my other USNs or Silver Certs!

And thinking about it, I always thought that the reason for removing the security strips was just paranoid people that thought the government was using them to track them?
Rest in Peace
