It has extra partial pillars on the right of the memorial.
Very nice pocket find.

Nice Pickup! You can see the additional "columns" between the pillars on the right. This is listed in The CherryPickers Guide as FS#1c -039.9

I still haven't come across one!

Bill,
As you know from looking at the cherry pickers book that it is a URS-3...meaning only 3 to 4 known.

Its a great find but as I mentioned in another thread, the numbers are not as accurate as one would think. For example, I have more than 20 of a particular coin that is listed at Coneca as only having 2 - 4 known.

The numbers only indicate how many have been reported to the "right" people:-) , it doesn't really indicate the rarity.

That is not to take away from your find as I feel that the 1994 DDR will ultimately be a very rare coin but the exact numbers out there are still guesswork.

The rarity scale is therefore something to be used as a guide but it can change in a heartbeat if someone opens a bag of cents and finds a "coupla" hundred examples.

I've had it happen to me On some cents of a particular year. 110 examples of something that only a few of were known before I opened that bag.

Have Fun,
Bill

There are probably close to 50 of these out there now, possibly more. This still means that this die variety is very scarce and warrants a lot of attention, especially in higher grades.

Very nice find!

300 coin buy, That is a very nice find. Now as to the popualtion listed, one has to consider several things. When was the report made? How many more are there , that were NOT sent in for checking? Other than those that have been submitted, there is no way to verify what the "population" is, so that is just a "number in hand". I'm sure there are others around, and most likely some of them are "stashed", what with the known having a nice premium, why not hold those one has, and wait? IMHO.
