Here is my set of Contantinopolis coins, from the thirteen mint cities and their officinae. Rome is a little out of whack because I'm not sure of officinae there., so I'm just picking them up when I see a different production mark.

If you wish, see more detail here: http://constantinopolis.weebly.com/

Anyone else have any sets they're building?

Wow great set, that has to be a lot of work trying to find them all. I don't have that kind of patients.

oh wow, that's pretty cool doucet!

I can't stay focused on one thing long enough to work on a set unfortunately.

Hey thanks everyone.

It really hasn't been all that difficult. I started about 2.5 yrs. ago and just kept an eye out for them while looking at all ancient coins. When one showed up at a fairly low price a got it.

The last few officinae I need and a couple real obscure issues from Rome I want are proving to be a real challenge.

Only time will tell if I find them all.

You may have the beginnings of some sort of set in your collection already. I started my Olypians portrait set just because I realized I had four or five of them already and started looking for the rest.

A fantastic effort. Now as your next step you could try and get an example of each officina for each issue.

Good job - very nice set of coins

I've started and failed to assemble a few sets in the past, SOLI INVICTO COMITI coins were the last, I managed a coin from each mint but gave up before I got all the mintmarks.

As you know I still have a few pet projects related to the Tetrarchy, most find these coins boring but I'm really interested in the period historically so its where I collect.

Its surprising what can be learned when you put a lot of time and emphasis into a single set of coins, it can be very rewarding.
