There are a lot of other "coincidences" that can be put on the list. At one time I had a linke to a geocities site that had a list of 239 coincidences. Of course some of them were a stretch, and some of them were duplicates. You can also find sites that examine a debunk many of the "coincidences".

For example

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights. This is questionable as far as Lincoln is concerned

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.
These are untrue.

Both assassins were known by the three names.
After the assasination. Before, Booth was known as J. Wilkes Booth, and Oswald was known as Lee Oswald.

Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse.
Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.
This is a case of a stretch. Booth was shot in a tobbacco barn, not a warehouse. A tobbacco barn is a structure used for drying tobbacco, not storing it.

Both were succeeded by Southerners.
Well both were northern politicians. They had selected a VP who could provide votes from the southern states.

Some times the lists have things in them that are just WAY wrong. You will find lists of coincidences that have Kennedy born in 1909 instead of 1917 inorder to make a 100 year apart claim. Or some lists say that Lincoln was shot in a theatre named Kennedy instead of Ford's Theatre.

OK Conder101. Now that you ruined my bubble about Lincoln I won't make a copy of that list. Wonder what President Ford thought about Lincoln being shot in his theater. Or was that Henry Ford's place. Play would have been about cars though.

Just Carl is correct about the JFK one. I had one also, it came attached to a piece of paper about the size of a bookmark and listed the similarities between Lincoln and Kennedy assasination. I think one of the similarities was Lincoln had a secretary named Kennedy and Kennedy had a secretary named Lincoln.

I have a penny that is counterstamped with an outline of Arkansas with an AR in the middle.

Here is where I can tie in my Lincoln Cent with the Masons counter stamp to the myths or facts surrounding the Lincoln -JFK similarities. I was told by a co worker, who is a Mason, that JFK and Lincoln were the only two presidents who were not Masons. If it is true or not I have no idea.

I have found probably 15-20 or so of the counterstamped cents in the last 40 years in circulation. Got the pipe one, 7-8 of Kennedy one s, 4-5 of the Masons, One stamped with Haynes, a Cross, Support the ecology, and a few with different states on them. I don't activly collect them but have pulled them from circulation when I came across them.

Did some research. From Wasington to Kennedy only 13 presidents were Masons. So much for that connection.

Sticking with the theme of this thread.... How many Pennies has the U.S. mint struck?

The answer. NONE

All Cents on the reverse says ONE CENT. You only find mention of pennies on the wrappers and commonly called that. In England before 1967 there was a half Penny and One Penny. Must be a term that was handed down through the years to the U.S.

coop! This topic has been around for a long, long time. Someone posted a list of all the songs and movies with the usage of the name "Pennies" such as Pennies from Heaven. Ask any kid what those coins are called and they will say Pennies. Ask most adults and they will say pennies. REGARDLESS of what it says on the reverse, they are what we say they are. This is America and our language is not English, it's AMERICAN. When I was a kid I couldn't say AIN'T but now it's in the dictionary.
I like PENNIES. I collect PENNIES.
