This is my second attempt and first post with Coin Community Forum. I hope I do this correctly!
My coin is 12.7 grams and 30 mm across; made of brass or copper.
I would like to be able to identify it!

Helloand welcome.

If I am reading the inscription right your coin is of Maurice Tiberius 582-602 AD. It's an AE follis (bronze). On the obverse is bust of the emperor facing wearing crown with trefoil ornament and consular robes, holding eagle sceptre. One the reverse is the amount and the regnal year U (4) which dates the coin to @ 586. The THEUP is the mint mark for Theoupolis ( Antioch) Sear# 532. Very nice coin/

"Follis" is the denomination. The large "M" is the Greek numeral "40"; in the early Byzantine monetary system, there were 40 nummi to a follis.

Gosh. I need to thank you for this too Sap.
I found S 532 on a web site. It appears to be identical to the one I have. Thanks again Echizento.
