Hi Bobby

Question ?

does the coin have a lettered edge ? It should be a thick planchet lettered edge !

1794 head

VG-8 -VG-10 I think the coin has the detail to make F-12 but with the damage to the rim, and whatever that is in the center of the reverse? what is that ?

The obverse surface of the coin looks even but dark, the Reverse looks like it may have some corrosion hard to tell from pics.

This is a really cool coin Bobby !!!

The coin is slabbed (ANACS) - no rim damage, just a stray part of the holder. The "E" is the diagnostic for the "crossed E" variety Sheldon S-46.

I'm sure it has the lettered edge or it wouldn't have slabbed.

Anacs slab it as an VF 20 or 25? because I'm sure that I under graded it ,, at F-12 without the rim damage !!

Sorry, Rick. I wanted to wait and see if anyone else wanted to take a crack at it. ANACS slabbed it as EF details, cleaned-corroded, net VF30. The cleaning is long past but there is still a sheen left to the coin. The corrosion refers to rough surfaces but no active corrosion that I could find. It's running now if you want to see the entire description:

Thanks Susan !

I knew I missed it low, but I have very little reference for grading this type of coin, so it was kind of a shot in the dark .
