Hey guys I have this 1996 walking liberty silver dollar on the back it says one oz of fine silver I'm seeing double in the 9 and 6 not sure if its machine or if there is a double die in it I don't deal with these very much I know its uncirculated it was a gift from my grandfather and I just got it out yesterday an was looking at it under a 16x magnifying glass and seen it so any help as to what it is would be helpful thanks in advance for any opinions if it is machine doubled does it make the value go down thanks guys looking forward to knowing what it is

I also see it on the bottom tail of the first 9.

Yea john its on all the numbers in the dates but more clear in the 96 than the others I've looked for other errors like this or any errors at all in this type can't find any though wonder if its worth getting graded I can't find another like it I've looked everywhere online does it look double die or machine

Just a heads-up on the terminology:
It's called a American Silver Eagle or simply ASE.
It uses the Walking Liberty half dollar's obverse, but it isn't called that way.

OK I don't mess with them much only Lincoln cents sorry about that sounds like you know what your talking about any idea to what it might be and have you seen any of them before in this date

As far as getting graded,wait for a few of the pros to chime in on weather it's a DDO or not. No sense in spending money on grading if it's not warranted.The coin looks to be circulated or maybe cleaned so it will not grade BU,IMHO.
