Lots of the devices on this one have this weird dagger looking thing on it or extra material. What is this? Oh, and of course, it looks like some MD in some areas too.

Still a coin to keep in BU. They didn't make mint sets in 1982-1983 so a nice BU coin from that year is one to hang onto. The mints sold sets from their mints, but you had to buy them from each mint going there. So two years to keep the nicest BU coins from.

Thanks Coop! You think that's a low BU? What do you make of the weird stuff on the letters?

Just coin contact. We have to remind ourselves of how much heavier these coins are. That plays a lot of damage on circulated coins even before we get new ones in the rolls. I like the tight rolls best to find nicer coins. Bags/bins are also hard on coins.

Nice find.A little off subject, your pics are pretty good but a bit out of focus and a lot of glare. With a little bit of practice I am sure you can improve your pics a bunch.Good luck.

Yeah, I got a new magnifying glass that I am still trying to perfect the angle and lighting with. :(

You will find the more things you try, the quicker you will figure it out. It takes a while, so don't give up.
