While I was in the coin shop someone brought this in and sold it. After the guy left the owner asked if I wanted it for 50 cents over spot. I could not resist. Anyway I tried searching to see when and where it was made. I had no luck. If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.

I haven't seen one of these in any of my ebay searches. Just a hunch but I wonder if it might be the work of an individual artisan and not a traditional bullion distributor.

Don't know either but it's a nice looking bar. About 1"x1"x4"?

My LCS has a bar that is 102 ounces. It kind of looks like yours I think they said it was just from a smelter or refiner.

It goes to the minters and jewelers in that form.

Nothing overly special about it, with the nice script it seems a shame there is no makers mark but if it was just headed to a mint to be pounded and pressed, or melted further why worry about extra marks.

A nice pick up for sure, a good investment and a cool paper weight

I'd keep that bar forever if half dollars keep falling out of it.
