He always has a couple of auctions that say-"It is recolored, with no signs of being cleaned,"
Is this normal? Is it an accepted way to "market" you cents?

Kinda depends on who did the recoloring.

Seriously, though, it's appropriate to mention recoloring if it's happened, and this auction is an example of why you should read the whole auction because that little potentially-deal changing fact is kinda buried. I don't know the seller to comment, but his Feedback looks pretty good.

In my opinion, the recoloring should be more prominently mentioned on such a valuable coin.

I have no idea what "recolored" means, but I don't see anything wrong with the coin.

Nice looking 1914-D, then take a look at the one he bought a month ago

Would this be an example of a recolored cent before and after? Notice the scratch on the reverse, and a couple other
marks that I find hard to believe are coincidence.

The more research I do the more hesitant I am to buy nice wheats on ebay. I am trying to BU my collection, I am down to the teens and twenties where they are getting a little more pricey.

No coincidence there. That's the same coin, before and after doctoring, with a nice healthy profit thrown in. I don't think it will slab.
