I seem to be beating my head against the wall trying to figure out what exactly this set is, how many were made and what it's worth... I bought it at a yard sale from a couple who had no clue where they got it or what it was really. I thought it looked special so I grabbed it up for what I think it's a decent price. So all I know is it's a set with $5,$10,$20,$50,$100 all in folders and all with the same serial number AA97 002217, they are in Perfect condition. The folders read deluxe low numbered uncirculated bank notes....

Any help would be extremely appreciated!!

Hi Stacy

According to the latest catalog these are worth the following

five dollars $100 7000 issued
ten dollars $100 8000 issued
twenty dollars $120 6000 issued
fifty dollars $285 5000 issued
one hundred dollars $550 4000 issued

You would be lucky to sell them for half that value however.

When Australia changed to polymer notes in the 1990s Note Printing Australia wanted to cash in on the interest around the new notes. They issued these folders each year up until 1999. These are the bank note equivalent of "NCLT".

Stacy,

Current RETAIL value for these folders is as follows:

$5 $100.00 $10 $100.00 $20 $120.00 $50 $285 $100 $550

Expect to get about 60% of retail value for each one.

There is currently a number of sets of these folders on ebay with an asking price of $850 such as item 121340816744. None have sold at this price.

I would have thought more like $600 for the set.

Cheers

You two are awesome, thank you so much! $600 is still a wonderful price, now just need to find someone who would like to purchase it!
