Have you ever had an exciting find? Using metal detectors or at the park? I sure have found alot. Here are a couple
-In Kuwait(where I live) I went around a local park and having fu with a metal detector which I got for my birthday. I found a 1 Fil kuwaiti coin (not in mint any more and used much before indipendence)I went to a dealer and he told me that the coin I found was worth 20KD(kuwaiti dinars- strongest currency in the world) 1KD=3.56 US Dollars
-In Sri Lanka(summer holidays- not my nationality) I went and having fun with my portable detector and guess what? I had found a 1792 Ceylon Dutch province coin - with special mint mark worth $500.
Whats your story?

A few years ago I bicycling early in the morning and came across 8 Italian Lire notes laid out in a row on the sidewalk. I believe they were 500 Lire each. This was strange enough but the reason I was bicycling that morning was because I was off. It was Columbus day!

I have a metal detector, but have not found any coins worth more than face value yet. I have found some jewelry at the local beaches here in Delaware. I bought it mainly for the excercise, but found that I love searching with it.
In southern Delaware, there is a beach that the locals call "Coin Beach", as after each storm, Spanish coins can be picked up on the beach. There are so many sunken ships here off the coast that it is hard not to find something. I will purchase an underwater metal detector in the spring. I am hoping to get the chance to go diving again next year. Too many projects this year.

Not much. I think the bums were getting there first. You know how sometimes people leave or lose full cans of beer in parking lots of bars? Or they just leave them there because they don't want beer in their cars if they pulled over by a cop? I think the bums must've been going through these parking lots as soon as it's got light out looking for a stray can of beer and found whatever money might've been laying around. I think the biggest find I ever had was finding my own wallet that I lost. When I first started biking I carried my wallet in the back pocket--something I since learned you don't do. I lost it once and didn't even even realize it for about 2 hours. I back tracked and found in a parking lot of some strip stores on Davie Blvd & 441 with $60 still in it.

Along Interstate 275 here in Florida, my father and I came across a small chest that contained a few items. Such items as ex-president mask and a $100 bill. :)

Years ago my Daughter and I were walking in a County Park and my Daughter spotted a couple of bills stuck in a bush. They were both twenty's! I've never been that lucky. Mike

When I was speeding down the road, the other day, I found a whole police car hidden in some bushes and trees! It even had a policeman, red lights, siren, radio, guns and a ticket book in it!!! Hadn't found one of those since back in 1972 but I didn't get to keep it as it belonged to the people of the State of Indiana. I suppose they put it back where I found it but I did get the officers autograph! Who says I don't have any luck!

A strange thing happened the last time I went to Florida to visit Longnine. He took me for a walk down through some peoples back yards and after returning home, I discovered that I has lost a couple of $50's an as many $20's while walking. I believe I can get this verified by Bill if there is any doubt. Thought you might like to know what to so with that $140 dollars.

I have a cousin in New Port, Rhode Island that has made quite a healthy living by using a metal detector just on those beaches alone for the past SEVERAL years.

Well yes, but don't forget you also paid $70 an hour for downtown parking.

I bet Old Dan thought that $70 was a down payment for the parking garage? Can't believe they would charge that much to park a covered wagon!
