The first time I went to the bank, I got two rolls of quarters. I quickly went through them and found a 1959-D Washington quarter!! It does happen from time to time though. For example, I have found several silver dimes but only 2 silver quarters. Report this Post to the Staff

One may think it's all in the luck of the draw, but it's all about VOLUME! If I were to search stricktly quarters, my average find (by weight) would be the same as my silver dime average, which has remained at about 1/$150 since I started six years ago. The only reason I don't search quarters consistently, is because of lack of variety in silver quarter finds. When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Now I grab bags from banks with coin counters and out of the 10 bags I have done so far only 2 skunked bags. Usually 1-2 per bag and the best was 4. But they are out there.
