This isn't US currency, but I don't know where else to put it. At one time I had 3 of these in different denominations but this is the only one that I kept.

I think this is called company scrip.

From the writing on the note, it seems probable that these were given to employees to spend at the locations mentioned who then in turn redeemed them on the company's pay days.

Is the other side blank or the same as the photo you have up?

Reverse is blank.

Yes, these were given to employees in place of real money. The Company in question (United States Watch Co. of Marion) was always short of cash and the places where the note could be spent were Company facilities.
