a double ear will have the same size ear as normal with an added ear lobe underneath

Here is a side by side of the 2006P-1DO-001:
2006-Penny,-Is-This-Double-Ear?-Really-Not-Sure.

Note the doubled die in wider devices and not longer on the ear.
The 2006P-1DO-003 is also a wider ear:

So if this is a doubled ear, it will have the same doubling on all the devices affected. If not, then it is not from those two dies.
There is also 2006P-1DO-018 which is a different type of doubled ear for this year:
