I am covering by basis: On ebay, I am bidding on a PCGS/CAC 55
1907 for $787; a MS62 NGC version of same for $1400 (I wont get this absent ebay crashing in), and finally a NGC 1907 AU58 for $831.

Is there one coin that I really should put all of my effort behind (for instance, put up the $2000 for the MS62)? or would a slightly worn example be sufficient for a value coin?

I realize there are a myriad of variables, but would would you do?

Is the last one actually a 1915? All else being equal, I'd go for the NGC MS62 IF it goes for under $1500. Not likely but possible. Next would be the PCGS/CAC AU55 if it goes for under $900. Last would be the (I assume) the 1915 piece, the pics are not good but it doesn't appear to be a attractive 58. $750 tops on it. Good Luck!

NOTE: The following are MY opinions AND my buying philosophy.

1. I buy the best I can afford. Sometimes that means I have to wait for the right coin to show up; I won't buy just to have a particular coin if it's not right.

2. I skip the grades MS-60, -61 and -62 unless they are the best I can afford. I take an AU-58 (or even an AU-55) if my budget can't reach to MS-63 or better.

In the last three Baltimore Whitman shows I have returned home empty-handed from two.
My budget is too tight to put money into a coin that won't satisfy me.
