To my untrained eye I am inclined to believe your assertion that they are modern fakes. They look rather 'buff' and have an uncirculated appearance. Unfortunately ebay does not seem to mind these things so much.
I once myself had the pleasure of watching coins stolen from my home 15 years earlier sold on ebay by someone I actually knew ! Neither ebay nor in particular Detective Daniel Rosario of the Worcester Police Department was of any help..... at all.
In fact detective Rosario of the WPD apparently accepted the story (hook line and sinker) given by the thief that she was my ex wife who had been awarded these items in a divorce settlement ! Of course Inspector Daniel "Clouseau" Rosario never bothered to ascertain that I have no ex wife !
No doubt he held the door for her as she left the station .... and caught the next flight to Florida !

You can try to stop criminal activity ...... but it is like ordering the tide to turn

On the top of the ebay page is Customer Support click on that, find where it says Report an item clip on that and report it. Keep your fingers crossed that ebay will do something about it.

Ask @swamperbob, ebay no longer cares about counterfeit or fake coins being sold on their portal, nor the reporting thereof So don't waste your time

I used to wonder who would counterfeit northern song coppers when the real deal costs about 35 cents a pop... they're not even the worst out there. Try looking for sendai square cash, it's pathetic.

I agree with jcmworld, so many genuine ones were struck and they sell for pennies, each, but still they make crappy fakes.
