Ok I was doing some roll searching today and I found this cent. I know they made a steel cent in 1943 because copper was short due to the war. I did not know they made a 1946 steel penny. So this penny seems to be a 1946 S steel Wheat penny in very good condition. I did take the best pictures possible with my smart phone. lost my camera and loop and everything when my condo burnt down and I have not had a chance to buy new things. So just let me know what you think if the pictures are good enough. Thank you.

If I were to Guess, which is what I'm doing. I would say it has been plated.

I have a 1953 that's has had the same thing done to it. Mine was plated after being placed in a bezel for some sort of jewelry.

There is a post about it in the modern errors section if you want to see a picture.

I kept it 'Just Because".
