I've only done a few hundred dollars worth of quarters in my coin roll hunting career, and found nothing. Can some of you please give me an idea of average volume you've gone through to find a silver quarter? for example 2 boxes, 4, 6? If the return is a high as I've been seeing for dimes, I think I'll try and go through some larger volume. I did find a 66 once in my dads change. So they must be out there. What do you think?

Douglas, It took me a year to find my first one, I average about 45 rolls a week, I was thinking of quitting the quarters, but found a 1951 on Saturday. so now I have actually found 2.5 silver quarters (1 was a 68)

i have gone through boxs of quarters, and have had streaks of 5-6 boxs with nothing in them, but no better than 1 silver coin in every other box on average, so the more you go through the better your odds, it is just that simple, be prepared for skunk boxs..

I don't search quarters as much as nickels, but I don't know how many rolls I've searched, but I do know I've been roll hunting since March. I don't get boxes either, I get loose rolls, one or two rolls every two or three days. I found a silver '68 last May, and nothing since. I did find a '63 in a friend's change in February though. Never hurts to ask them permission to look through their change.

I have found 5 after about 8 boxes.
4 of them were 1968 and 1 was 1960.

I found a 1968 in a roll once, a 1962 in a coin machine reject, and a 1966 in my change from timmies.
