Nice coin! AU58 Like SHAFTA9a said you might want to change your title 'cause it's not a nickel, what we call nickels didn't begin 'til 1922

Ok ok... I get the nickel bit. What I don't get is the deduction. The " Silver 5 cent coin " looks flawless in hand, what am I missing?

Quote: what am I missing? Like many of us you may not have the capability or ability to take great photos. In your photo the luster appears to be broken and there is softness of the high spots which may indicate wear. Such is online grading.

Ok You all win, I went on Google image and found photos of other examples. Not that I didn't trust you. The images do show much more detail, with higher points. Hard to believe that a coin can loose that detail without scratches in the fields. AU58 it is.

AU-58, possibly MS-60 with such a nice strike on it.
Good coin! Thanks for sharing.
