Someone threw this into my ebay package when I bought some 'Unsearched Wheats' the other day. I guess he felt sorry for me.

This and the MS70 Full Strike Nickel (which looked worse than my pocket change) went into my sock drawer until yesterday.

Was about to break it out of the case and throw it into my wheat stack when I noticed the mint mark.

An S/S! Hard to see in the photo, but it's decently clear in hand.

Looks nice. I can't tell which one it is. There are several for that year in almost the same position. Not sure which way the separation is from your image. just remember this formula when Identifying RPMs. S-P-M Separation (Direction of separation and how much) Location as each die is hand punch as to the mintmarks) Markers (Comparing to a reference which will show you the same markers on known copies.)You example may or not have the markers the same a listed in other publications. Yours may have marks from being struck before or after examples listed. So not having a marker doesn't disqualify your coin, but gives you an idea of what dies state your coin is in compared with other know examples.
So may I reiterate, Separation first to be considered, second location and markers to see if your example matches know examples. Dies go through the same used and abuse, so no wonder die cracks/clashes/chips/breaks have on multiple dies. So you have to determine which separation and direction fits your coin and then try to match it to know examples. If you can't find one that matches identically, it would be one not listed yet. So don't give up in the search. Finding is only 1/2 of the fun. The other 1/2 is identifying the coins you've set aside.

It's tough looking at a shiny coin. I'm so used to the dark brown ones. The doubling looks soooo different based on which way the light is hitting it. Was driving me crazy trying to figure out which one this was.

The bottom loop is to the West. The bottom serif is to the north. The top serif is to the south. And the top loop is to the east.

Overall, it looks rotated clockwise.
