Hello,
Here is a 1990-D ( DDR) on the leftside of the Memorial, you will see my arrows to where it is...You will see extra pillers and on top of Memorial, also bottom of Memorial. Here is my scan. Thisscan should be better for all to see you could really blow it up.

Thank you,

300 coin guy

I doubled the size of the link, and it is still too small to tell. Can you make a close-up of the left end of the bldy?

A close up will likely reveal very common Mechanical Doubling. I don't want to be definitive about it until a larger picture is provided.

There are specific things though that need to be present on a doubled die and this coin is not showing it.

Lets get a better and perhaps bigger picture to be sure.

Thanks,
Bill

I blew up the picture and lightened it some. This thing has possibilities. Let's see a better pic...

If you use a digital camera, you probably have a macro setting that will allow you to take a close up shot. You may need to check out your manual to see hjow to do it.

If you lay the coin on a flatbed scanner, you can often set it up to scan at 1200 dpi.

If you have what is called a twain program that is a part of the scanner software, you can crop out all the blank space before you even do the scan.

Removing all that extra stuff makes the scan go faster.

I hope that helps.

I should also mention that most digital cameras, even when they don't have a macro setting can take a decent close up, you just bring the camera in as close as you can and still maintain a focused picture. You may have to experiment a little but you can get a pretty good shot.
