I have never been much of a collector of foreign coins, but over the years I had accumulated a few, but hadn't seen them in a long time. The other day I was digging around looking for in an old drawer, and there they were totally forgotten about in a little box.
There are easily over 100 coins, some in 2x2's, some not. There are a bunch of early 1900s Britain half penny's, several AU/BU Loonies, a 1917 Canada 5 cent piece, (I'd call it a
Half Dime, as it's small and silver). There was also a pretty cool 1943 Australia Shilling with a ram on the reverse side. I am pretty sure someone on this forum has that as an avatar, as I immediately recognized it. All in all without actually counting, there are coins from over 25 different countries, maybe more! I will be doing some inventory and then I may have a few questions.
It was a pretty exciting rediscovery. I don't really know whether I will keep the coins or sell them since I am more of a US collector, (likely I'll do a little selling/trading, and keep some that I like more.) Anyway, it was cool to find coins that I had forgotten about!
