Hello Members,

Here 2 buttons which I found years ago here in the Netherlands with an metal detector. They appear to be 2 buttons from regiment entrangers off napoleon bonaparte. And someone told me they are very rare because these regiments were not the usual regiments.

The regiments are 1 and 4 according to the buttons. And here below some information I got about it.

Very interesting post! The link provides an insight into the formation of the Foreign Regiments. Such a mix of nationalities! By the appearance of the buttons perhaps the original owners were Buglers?
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Aiglet7,

I don't know for sure. All I know it was some kind of special group/force and all other buttons I know from this periods are from bronze/copper. And some with numbers but with no horn on it. I had an copper one as well. More commen type. As symbol you see almost the same front as 12 deniers copper coin from france late 18th century. Unfortunatly I don't have an picture her with me. And I've to search into my collection for it.

in British military heraldry, the bugle is a symbol of Light Infantry.
But, I don't know about French or other armies.
