I think it is some kind of an jeton comparing with this coin:
You can see Alexand from alexandrie and Emi from Emilien. Can't find an matching jeton though. Maybe someone else can help. Probably 18th century.

Emilien - Tetradrachme (253, Alexandrië)

The rooster gives me a French feeling: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coq_da..._gaulois.jpg
The tekst is ALEXAND. EMPEREUR (French for emperor) and not Emil!
There was an understanding signed between emperor Alexander of Russia and Napoleon on the congress of Erfurth.
Is there a connection with this medal? I do not know.
But I am pretty sure it is French. The uniform is clearly not greek

you are right. Didnt readed empereur. Just EMI and because of the eagle. Though some token related to EMI.
Can't find an identic token. But probably used as some kind of play jeton I think as token.
I don't know if the token is big and heavy? Then it could be an medal.

This Italian collection has it categorized as a gaming token made in Nuremberg:

I'm assuming Alexander I; the style appears too early for the others.

He seems to have been popular in Germany for having defeated Napoleon. That may also be the reason for the title in French and the coq gaulois. The portrait also strikes me as perhaps having been copied from the Lauer jetons of Alexander I:

I have learned that a lot of Nurnberg tokens/jetons were made to ridicule some fact and figures.
That the twet is in French could indeed mean that he was seen as the emperor of France, after defeating Napoleon.

Hello Philadelphian,
I though that Napoleon did get defeated in Russia and thats why he in the end loses his empire. Same mistake as hitler did in the second world war. Aswell russia. Did no how to fight in the cold. They russians did fire all the vilages on their way so no food. Must have something to do with always wanting more. Because this was known..
