This is a small copper-nickel coin, measuring just 21.5mm in its biggest (diagonal) dimension. At the time it was minted, the island of Curacao was a possession of the Netherlands (today, although Curacao has become self governing, the Dutch continue to administer its defense and foreign affairs).

Is the plant the lahara fruit that flavors the curaƧao liqueur?

I think it's an orange blossom, for the Dutch House of Orange. This design is copied from a coin for the Netherlands proper, the one difference is the text "MUNT VAN CURACAO".

This is one of my favourite coin designs ever, it's appealing and distinctive on all counts. But I don't have the Curacao issue yet.

I have one of the older Netherlands coins with that design, and I think one of the newer Netherlands Antilles coins too.
Would love to get one that says Curacao; I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's actually the only coin type of that "country" (Numista says differently, but seems to agree that most of the rest are also 1940s renamings of normal Dutch coins).
