US-Mint-Introduces-Thomas-Jefferson-Dollar-Coin-August-16The U.S. Mint recently launched the Presidential $1 Coin Program -- a new series of circulating $1 coins featuring former Presidents in the order which they served. The first coin in the series, the George Washington $1 Coin, arrived at U.S. financial institutions and retailers and in the hands of consumers on February 15, 2007. The newest Presidential $1 Coin featuring Thomas Jefferson will go into circulation on August 16, 2007.

In preparation for the expected consumer demand, retail merchants and financial institutions may begin pre-ordering the new Thomas Jefferson $1 Coin on August 2, 2007. As experienced with the George Washington and John Adams $1 Coin, the U.S. Mint anticipates customer demand to be brisk for the new Thomas Jefferson $1 Coins. Research commissioned by the U.S. Mint reveals that about half of Americans surveyed are interested in collecting the new Presidential $1 Coins.

By proactively publishing this information, Automatic Merchandiser provide a valuable service to its readers in preparation for the launch of the new Thomas Jefferson $1 Coin. The coin will be available in unmixed quantities until September 13 so it's important that self service retailers order their coins early to ensure availability.

The United States Mint is also encouraging self service retailers to order free informational and promotional materials that can be distributed to customers. The materials are available free of charge at https://www.usmint.gov/$1coin.
