Farthing Ireland 1601 And Dorchester Farthing?

vince1977 Pillar of the Community Netherlands 847 Posts	Posted 06/28/2014 10:18 am Hello Members, Ive got 2 possible farthing coins. One seems to be Ireland dated 1601 if I'm correctly. The other looks like an Dorchester Farthing 1666. Could someone correct me if I am wrong? Report this Post to the Staff

But I can't figure out the mint marks. Were to find those? 3 Pence is mintmark Martlet ? KM # 7.1 Penny is mintmark Star or Trefoil ? KM # 6.2 KM # 6.1 Report this Post to the Staff

Dorchester town issue 1669 farthing: Obv: THE.ARMES.OF.DORCHESTE(small R). , around beaded inner circle, Town Arms. Rev: A.DORCHESTER.FARTHING , around beaded inner circle, *** H*D 1669 in three lines within, the letters H D refer to the Hospital of Dorchester. Report this Post to the Staff

Because of the E R (looks like K R on my coin) it is probably an penny then. Because on the website the 3 pence don't has this mark. The mintmark is star above the shield on the obverse.
