$500 won't get you a $20 Lib or Saint like it did 24 months ago, so I guess I would have to settle for a $10 Indian.

A lavish dinner out and plenty of long stemmed red roses for the missus. She's been very understanding of my "acquisition mania" lately.

$500? Can't I have more? Ok, I think I would buy a nicely struck 1943-S Walker in Gem, but I'm not sure such a thing exists. I need one and I've seen 3 or 4, the most expensive of which was $450. But I want to wait for a better one than I've seen so far. For those who don't know, the Liberty Walking half was minted from 1916-47 and the 41-47 short set is a very popular set because you can assemble a mint state set relatively inexpensively. However, the '41-S, '42-S, '43-S are expensive in 65 and over, and these issues had the absolute worst striking problems in a series plagued with striking problems. I have the 41-S and 42-S in 64, but I'm determined to get the 43-S in 65 with the best strike I can find. Otherwise, I know of a reeded edge bust half in AU that the dealer wants a little less than $400. I've seen the coin and it's very nice. So that would leave me with another $100. I'd probably buy the half and a nice circulated buff nickel for my album.

If it has to be a coin it would be a 42D/41 Mercury dime is AU grade at one of the coin shows I go to. Most need a super magnifyer to see the 1 so I'd blow the money on an AU version. If not a coin, have one of my cars detailed.

I'd pick up an 1881 Newfoundland $2.00, but if I'm limited to a US coin (since this is in the US forum) I'd probably pick up 1917-S type 1 SLQ.

I'd buy a high grade cull of the 1793 Half Cent (AG3 = $1200) since that's the only way I'm going to be able to fill the space in my Type Set.

I'd buy the new gold Spouse coin and sell it on ebay for a quick 85-90% profit

I would probably buy a $10 Indian gold piece, or possibly a nice Seated dollar. Now if you gave me $700 to play with I'd get a St. Gaudens $20 gold or a 1916-D merc.

I'd buy a 1996 Prestige Proof set since only 55,000 were minted and if I had any money left I'd try and finish my Prestige set.
