I have been throwing all my 1983 pennies in a cup for a while now since I saw there were 2 varieties listed on Coins and Canada.
I started sorting them last night and about one third of them are near. Why do they appear to be more valuable when they seem quite common?

I see the MS ones on ebay are getting a premium, but I noticed the Coins and Canada pricing and wondered what was up.
